Is physics really hard?

I’d like to tell you a story. It’s about WHY I do what I do,
and why I’d like to help YOU achieve physics mastery.

The reason I wanted to share my story with you is because
I want you to know me. I want you to know that I can help you.

So do me a favour?

Is physics really boring? My kids think so!

I've got a PhD in physics, so I was really excited when one of my girls has started to learn physics at school. A few weeks in I asked her how it was going, she told me it was so boring and nothing like the stuff I tell them about at home. I was stunned. Worse still, I'm a physics tutor! Did my students also think it was boring and were being polite because I was their tutor? Could I be so out of touch?

I was genuinely rattled so I phoned round the people I was tutoring and the parents of the kids I was teaching to ask how things were going? The truth was that I needed to know if I was a really awful boring teacher! The reponse I got was the same everytime. People loved my tutoring. The kids hated physics at school but really loved the tuition. This was great news for my ego, I'll be honest at that minute I needed a bit of a boost, I was also a bit confused.

I had done some research on teaching physics and it is one of the tougher subjects to teach, even though it is no tougher than any other subject to learn. Sure you have to learn a fair amount of facts, but you do in history or geography, when you learn a foreign language you have to learn way more things. You have to do some maths, but you do loads of maths when you do study maths, loads more!

I knew that in reality some people learn faster than others. That's why some people need a little extra help in the form of tuition. I just figured that the ones I was tutoring may be a bit shy in class, didn't want to ask questions and so on. I knew they were bright. These people who were supposed to be struggling where getting everything I was putting in front of them. Helping them study physics was and is an absolute joy for me. It is an easy gig. People, young and old just soak it up.

How can this be? How could my lessons be interesting and the same material at school so dull? Have I got some mystical teacher powers unknown to me? Does my accent make me some kind of physics whisperer? while I'd like to think that may be true, I knew it wasn't.

When I used to train out in industry, at the end of each course we would hand out a questionaire, ask people what went well, not so well, did it reach expectation and so on. I decided to perform a similar exercise and the results really suprised me. At some point during each section of a session I'd do what I call my "check this out...", this would last a couple of minutes and then we would move on. I had been doing this for the past 20 years in industry when teaching courses and had just adopted it when tutoring. It turns out that people really liked the "check this out..." part of the sessions. This was one of the things that really worked for them.

I'm a people person, I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, learning what they have to teach and helping them when I can. In my job as a programmer/trainer, then tutor, I got to meet lots of people and it was one of the great joys of the job. Training and helping people is a great way to spend your day. In 2020, the world was turned upside down by Covid, in the UK schools were actually closed from months. At first it was great for me, I got to spend so much time with my kids. After a while though it started to dawn on me that this was not going away anytime soon and I need to try and do something to help.

Key benefits from this course

The main section of this course runs for around about an hour, I'm sure though that by the end of it you'll think it is some of the best time and money you have spent. I'm confident about this because I'm going to be planting seeds, planting ideas in your mind, and like seeds, they will grow and develop and change the way you think and see this universe if you let them.

I am going to show you that a single equation can be used to cover a massive range of physics, it may seem hard to believe but it is absolutely true.

One equation to explain Ohms law, force, work done, momentum, latent heat, electric force, electric energy, elastic force, distance and velocity. More than this though I want to really SHOW you physics and open your mind to this incredible subject.

Let me ask you a question. Is the real reason you are here because you are hoping that a course like this might help you pass an exam? You just need to score a certain amount in your exam and after you do, then you are done with physics? This course will help you there for sure, in the newly added bonus section we have added over 3 hours, YES 3hours + of calculation type questions based on grade 11 physics.

I am sure that in the process of taking you through the calculations in the bonus section, I can also convince you that physics is just great.
